Fully accredited by the Joint Commission, Ashe Memorial Hospital is a primary care facility that cares about the entire family. The hospital has been in a constant growth pattern with the addition of new physicians and renovations over the last several years. In 2005, the Wilma Vannoy Birthing Center opened. The new birthing center features three LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) suites that has all the latest in medical equipment and care and all the comforts of a top-line hotel suite. The hospital was recently recognized as the 2006-2007 National Rural Health Organization of the Year by the National Rural Health Association.
