One of the premiere road cycling events in the region is set to take off again in Ashe County. The Blue Ridge Brutal 100 Bike Ride will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday, Aug. 14 in front of the Ashe Civic Center on Mount Jefferson Road in West Jefferson, NC. 2010 marks the 21st year for this exciting event. The “Brutal” offers three ride options including a 100-mile ride, a metric century ride, or a 50 mile ride. Proceeds from the ride benefit the Ashe Civic Center.
